What is Talespinners?

Our flagship and much-loved programme Talespinners now has its own spinoff! Designed and founded by Simran S Arneja and Kanupriya Singhal, Talespinners is for our youngest children from 2-5 years old. It’s a beginner program in creative drama, and uses drama exercises and games, books, role play, storytelling and process-based art. The goal is to build the skills of communication, creativity, critical thinking and collaboration, leading to the glow of inner confidence in little children.

Why Talespinners?

Drama and storytelling in early years are a tremendously effective way for children to acquire real life skills, literacy skills and social skills. Children learn to know and regulate their emotions and build empathy while having fun through this unique method. Their creative thinking abilities shoot through the roof and they become aces at expressing themselves both verbally and non-verbally.

If you’re the kind of parent who wants to build these skills in your child, who values their child’s emotional intelligence, and who believes in letting their children be who they are and becoming confident individuals, Talespinners is the place for you and your child.

What we do?

Talespinners also has a Book Club, and children take home two books by a diversity of authors after every class to be read to them by their grown-ups.

Talespinners has also birthed our kids’ all-time favourite, Magic Carpet – a special time for the class to make up stories and then play-act them out together.

We have two types of workshops under Talespinners, based on age.

Talking Tales

2 – 4 Years Old | Story and Creative Drama for Early Years

The focus of the workshops in Talking Tales is to immerse the children in the world of stories as they see them being performed through dramatic play, puppetry, and read-alouds. Apart from developing children’s language skills, these rich stories give grown-ups a clear window into the world of their children. Children are engaged with feelings and sensory explorations of the central theme of the story throughout the class.

Book Of Live Adventures

3.5 – 5.5 Years Old | Creative Drama Program

The Talespinners Creative Drama Program is about exploring different tales by varied authors through techniques in drama. The focus of the workshops is to encourage children to physically play these stories out. Children are engaged through feelings and explorations around the central theme of the story for a particular workshop and enter these stories through drama techniques.
